Purpose of position:

The Research Assistant will administer the endpoint survey including Hypertension and HIV screening at household level and refer eligible participants to the public Health facilities.

Job description:

·       Obtaining consent from heads of households and parents/guardians of children before any study procedures are conducted.

·       Accurately administer electronic endpoint questionnaires to study participants ensuring that study data are collected and case report forms are filled as per protocol.

·       Conduct HIV and Hypertension counselling and screening in a rural community setting.

·       Obtain blood samples from study participants and prepare them for transportation.

·       Referral of study participants to public health facilities for hypertension, and HIV prevention and treatment services.

·       Any other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor within your area of work.

·       A Diploma in Nursing or midwifery or clinical medicine from a recognized institution and licensed by the responsible authority.

·       Should have good knowledge of research ethics and possess a certificate in Good Clinical Practice.

·       Should be fluent in Runyankole/Rukiga and/or Luganda.

·       Should possess excellent computer (Microsoft office) skills.

·       Highly flexible and willing to work in multiple study communities in a rural setting.
