Duties Brief
  1. Sensitize heads of households about the PMI Housing Modification Study, and seek consent for participation in the entomology activities.
  2. Collect information on household characteristics at enrolment. 
  3. Be responsible for setting up and collecting CDC light traps .
  4. Be able to identify malaria vector mosquito species from non-malaria vector mosquito species.
  5. Processing the collected mosquitos, and delivering them to the lab for analysis.
  6. Ensure accurate labelling, packaging and timely transport of all field laboratory specimens.
  7. Conduct daily updates of entomology logs and notice boards/progress charts.
  8. Assist with organization and filing of study forms, in collaboration with the study coordinators.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of records and research findings as appropriate.
  10. Attend regular team meetings.
Qualification Required
1. Diploma in Medical Entomology from a well-recognized institution. A Bachelors’ Degree in Medical Entomology is an added advantage 2. Experience working in a research setting or NGO 3. Demonstrated ability to work in a team and fast paced environment 4. Willingness to live and work in a rural setting in Eastern Uganda 5. Ability to speak at least one local language commonly used in East/Central Uganda 6. Training in Good Laboratory Practice and Good Clinical Practice is an added advantage 7. High levels of flexibility, confidentiality and integrity 8. Must know how to ride a motor cycle
